All my attempts to grow catnip in the garden have been foiled by my cats, who just can't wait.
So last year I grew it in a hanging basket, which worked beautifully, since Max and Miles couldn't reach it.
I left it hanging all winter, and forgot about it till I went looking for hanging baskets to fill. The catnip has reseeded itself, and a new crop is growing with a natural mulch of white-pine needles that fell from a nearby tree.
