Irises have been in bloom in my garden for about a week.
There are roughly 200 - 300 species of Iris in spectrum of colors. Most of mine are bearded Iris, in all shades of blue to purple, yellow and peach.
Iris is very easy to grow in a sunny spot and requires very little care. I divide the rhizomes every few years and plant them in the backyard. Iris flowers are very showy and attract a lot of attention from passers-by. Iris got its name from the Greek goddess, the messenger of the gods and personification of the rainbow, a link between heaven and earth, according to flower meaning guide.

A link between heaven and earth sounds so good to me right now. And ironically, they are all in bloom, at a time when I need them the most...
