Irises have been in bloom in my garden for about a week.

There are roughly 200 - 300 species of Iris in spectrum of colors. Most of mine are bearded Iris, in all shades of blue to purple, yellow and peach.

I have a few in the Dutch (bulb) category and also a lot of Siberian iris.

Iris is very easy to grow in a sunny spot and requires very little care. I divide the rhizomes every few years and plant them in the backyard.

Iris flowers are very showy and attract a lot of attention from passers-by.

Iris got its name from the Greek goddess, the messenger of the gods and personification of the rainbow, a link between heaven and earth, according to flower meaning guide.

A link between heaven and earth sounds so good to me right now. And ironically, they are all in bloom, at a time when I need them the most...
