Back in 1988, I was introduced to viburnum by a nice man who came to fix my fence. He told me that I should plant a few viburnums on my property and that I would love its fragrance. I, known to my family and most of my friends as easily influenced, wasted no time in obtaining 3 small shrubs and had two planted in front of my house, one at each corner and one at the lower level of my backyard.

Each year the shrubs produced several small clusters of white and pink tiny flowers that sent out a pleasant, distinctive scent. The blooming period lasted several weeks. I've kept the shrubs relatively small.

I often bring the flowers indoor to enjoy its perfume. I am thankful to have been introduced to this shrub with beautiful green leaves that has become my favorite fragrant flowering shrub over the years.
