We often refer to angelonia as angelface, which is one of the cultivars. According to hortanswers (University of Illinois extension), there are 3 cultivars and the flowers can be white, purple, lavender, pink or bi-color.

Angelonia belongs in the Scrophulariaceae family, with about 30 species in the genus, native to South America. Many species have been cultivated as ornamental plants.

I have special fondness to angelonias as I distinctively remember them as cut flowers when I was growing up. I continue to use them in flower arrangement.

Angelonia has always been part of my annual flowering plants, mostly in purple or bi-color. The bloom time is from planting to hard frost.
I found the new hybrids, called angelface pink about 2 weeks ago. They are taller than the white and purple ones, making a beautiful addition to my garden.

Angelonia requires very little maintenance. Deadheading is not necessary. Regular fertilizing and watering are recommended.
