Verbena Canadensis is a slow-growing and hardy-perennial flowering plant with a long blooming period. It is heat and drought resistant, suitable for borders and edging.

My two verbenas were planted around the end of May, at the inner edge of the sidewalk with enough space around the bases for their spreading and trailing habits.

I occasionally deadhead the spent flowers. Both plants are doing well, producing new flowers and creeping along the sidewalk very nicely.

Verbena, with its abundance of clusters of deep purple, tiny flowers and very attractive foliage, also makes a perfect groundcover.
